New Hashima Collaboration

The New Hashima City Collaboration is the result of years of planning and building between 80 LEGO builders from 7 countries. I was invited to join the collaboration at BrickFair Virginia 2022 by the group leaders Stefan, Simon, Mason, and Michael. Through Discord, the builders, group leaders, and I planned out a 20 ft by 20 ft display that was assembled at BrickWorld Chicago 2023. As we built we shared our progress and gave each other feedback and critiques so we could make the best model possible. At BrickWorld Chicago the collaboration won three awards; Best in Show, Best Lighting, and Best Large Collaborative Build. I am honored and humbled to be part of such an amazing group of people and that we were able to accomplish and create such an incredible build. We are already looking to expand the build over the coming years to make New Hashima even greater!

I contributed two towers and two building cubes to the collaboration. I was able to talk about my build as part of the collaboration in our interview on the Beyond The Brick YouTube Channel. I am introduced at 1:26:40 in the video but I heavily encourage watching as much as you can to see the hard work everyone else contributed!

At BrickFair Virginia 2023, a small portion of the New Hashima team reassembled and constructed Sector 10: The Archology, a mix of new and old cubes and towers, as well as desert landscaping, a first for the collaboration. We won the "Biggest and Bestest" award as well as featured again in a Beyond the Brick Video.
